Tyson: 'I Really Do Want to Rape Her'
Thursday, May 29, 2003 Mike Tyson (search) is making headlines again -- and this time it's for shooting off his mouth to Fox News. The former boxing champion once again denied he raped Desiree Washington (search) in 1991 in an Indianapolis hotel room, but told Fox News' Greta Van Susteren that he'd like to now. "I just hate her guts. She put me in that state, where I don't know," Tyson said in an interview for The Pulse, scheduled to air Thursday night. "I really wish I did now. But now I really do want to rape her." Van Susteren spoke to Tyson in Miami for a TV piece that looks back at the circumstances of Tyson's 1992 trial that ended with him convicted of rape and sentenced to six years in prison. The Pulse airs at 9 p.m. EDT on the Fox network. |

How is this politically related?

We will just wait until someone makes an argument that his behavior has something to do with race or intelligence. That somehow the republicans are responsible for this by cutting the budgets of psychiatric help for minorities; or maybe the democrats are to blame for teaching people that crime is the result of poverty. Perhaps Al Qaeda is to blame, and this is a plot to rape American virgins - maybe Israel is to blame, as Mike Tyson is obviously acting out of rage at the Palestinian occupation.
Who will take the gauntlet and turn this non-issue into a forum for political demagoguery? |

Actually, I thought his statements were pretty amazing. I mean, when I'm mad/angry at someone, it never crosses my mind to RAPE them... even if I fantasize about bodily harm, rape doesn't come into it. Maybe it is just a psycho man thing.. (hey not ALL men!!)
Possibly he is saying since he did the time, he wishes he'd done the crime, but that is weird too. He's a sicko! |

Obviously it's in political because Tyson is black. Haven't you heard of the Bell Curve?

In defence of Paddy, he had provocation. It's almost worth a tangent, but I don't think we can fit the IQ scale into a poll with one-point increments.

This is just Tyson doing his form of marketing. If people think he's nuts and a menace to society, they are more likely to pay $40 (or whatever pay per view costs these days) to watch him either beat up a tomato-can like whats-his-name McNeely, or get out-boxed by a actual boxer.
If he started going to Church and being a nice guy, no one would watch him, because he isn't that good anymore. |
