VirginMobile cellphone - calling FROM a foreign country

Hi, I'm on hold waiting for customer service now, but (a) I won't trust their answer anyway, and (b) maybe someone here knows...

If I take my VirginMobile cell phone to Panama, can I make calls from there back to the USA? What is the estimated charge for this?

Their website only describes calls out of the US; it says nothing whatsoever about making calls from a foreign city into the US. Thanks very much.

When I travel to India, i just buy a sim card there, and use it. Usually much cheaper than using my US line there.

Can you do this there? That is, buy a sim card there for an unlocked US phone, or buy a prepaid phone there.

Plus you probably also will be dinged if you make a call within panama to panama, not to mention getting dinged for receiving calls and/or texts.

I just learned that VirginMobile cannot be used in any foreign country, period. You can call from the USA outward, but not from another country to the US.

but they obviously have some kind of service in Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, France, and South Africa since their website tells me so. Is panama in any one of those countries?
