Default Stochastic Models

I have to do a research paper for my course on random and pseudorandom sequences so since I'm going to be an actuary I thought something on stochastic modelling would be good. Can anybody recommend some good texts and/or articles to look at (either introductory or actuarial specific)?

Thanks.
