I know, I know: optimism is so crazy!
The Taliban, in a fit of self-preservation, detains and hands over Osama bin Laden to a U.N. tribunal. No U.S. soldiers set foot in their country, no further lives are lost over all this. Worldwide, formerly terrorist organizations renounce methods which might lead to the death of innocent people (much like the Protestant protesters in Northern Ireland recently stepped back once one person "crossed the line" with bomb-throwing). "You may say I'm a dreamer..." |

The first part is just maybe, maybe possible. Let's hope so. The rest is too unlikely.

I think it's possible that they report something like: Bin Laden left the country and we don't know his whereabouts.
