btw, when I voted, I was torn between choice 4 and 6. if karats are all that matters, get a simulated diamond.

It's a balance between all factors.

As CindyLou said, the size of the diamond should be a proper fit to the woman's hands. My former 0.72 ct solitaire appeared larger than my coworker's 1 ct one because I have small hands. There is a point at which a ring is too big (for the average individual).

For me, there is an acceptable range for all factors .. using those ranges, maximize the awesomeness of the ring.
