Sori has looked progressively better, if he continues, it won't be too long before he looks like he did post all-star break last year. I also really like seeing how well lilly threw. He is looking like he did last year when you could make a legit argument that he was our most dependable pitcher. Also, it was so sweet when they walked reed johnson with 2 outs to get to lilly and then lilly smacks an RBI single and sori an RBI double. That hit by lilly is what won that game.

How bout tomorrow's match up - big Z vs Randy Johnson. Should be a good one

Brewers will not be able to be contenders for playoff spots with gagne as a closer. Its that simple. Brewers have an awesome line up, but they just don't have the pitching.
Because he's got 2 more blown saves than Wood and what, 5 saves more than wood?

Trust me, you don't have to worry about the Brewers contending. That "awesome" lineup is absolute trash. Hardy & Weeks are nowhere near the talent that they were advertised as being, Hall is a disaster, Cameron's done nothing, Fielder is bald, and Ryan Braun has a look on his face that everything is bullshit, same as usually. The only guys I'm happy with are Kendall, Hart, and the bullpen. Yes. All of the bullpen. Including Gagne. He's far and away our best option for a closer, and I'd like to see some evidence that he's as terrible as people are making him out to be. I'll give him 3 blown saves, because 2 of them were situations in which he shouldn't have been in the game, and of those 3 blown saves, 2 of them were on terrible conditions, the garbage mound at Wrigley on opening day, and the almost as bad mound at the smallpark a couple weeks ago. Then, the one in HOuston where the umps blew it (on purpose) because of what happened in Atlanta last year, but still, Gagne's had far more good outings than bad outings.

But, the Brewers are garbage, and may not win 60 games this year, unless one of the clique gets sent packing real real soon.

Oh yeah, and what do the cubs fans think we can get for Ben Sheets? I hear he's very very very available right now.

I have to say AM this meltdown you've been having is quite entertaining. Especially with the fact that you're still so convinced Gagne is going to be good. I'll be the first to admit that it's too early to call w/ Gagne, but the results are starting to come in and it's not looking good.

I'm convinced that he's not terrible. Because he's not. He's not uber-dominant, but no closer in the central is. Sure, early returns are that he's not good, but the early returns on EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THE BREWERS is not good either, so why focus on him?

I keep waiting for the Cubs to come back to reality. Apparently they don't plan on it.

Go Cubs!
