I would like clarification on this as well. The way I read my Char sheet and the D&D online thingy I thought a mark can be made anytime you attempt to hit an enemy...not everytime you damage/hit/make Contact with an enemy.

I believe are supposed to get to mark him as long as you attack, even if you don't hit. I don't have the PH with me here at work to confirm, however.

This hits the goblin hard, he is now bloodied.
