The California DOI needs to look into the companies that sold the policies. There is a clear lack of insurable interest.

Isn't there some guy out there who's faked his own death a couple of times for mulitmillion policies from a major insurer?

I know there is a guy who has faked heart attacks to get out of paying restaurant bills and other things. So, probably has happened.
