I think I'll have a hard time getting it down to 4. There's 2 I know I'm voting for, one or 2 I'm not too keen on. And 4 in limbo. This is hard.

To everyone in the group, fabulous picks.

nope.

about the blackfield song, it's by far not the most accessible song on that album (the title track or summer would probably get a lot more votes), but i love the refrain; it really hits home to me. all i have left are my precious scars is about as awesome as u2's you gave me nothing and it's all i've got.

Or I'm rewarding the people who come up with something new and interesting for me.

I think this is a fair point. I really like The Morning Light song, but I've got dozens of pop punk bands on my ipod, and given the strength of the rest of the field, it's probably not going to get my vote.

Top 4:
Newton Faulkner - I know now a song I like...Yeah, yeah, yeah, and I know now
Collin Herring - like Jonas, I "read" about him in Paste, but didn't really listen until now.
Blackfield - the refrain seems cheesy, but it's grown on me over repeated listening
Gregory And The Hawk - creepy, but beautiful

Bottom 4:
238 - alright, but doesn't stand out at all in this group or contest so far
Heroes del Silencio - a Spanish version of Cool for August... meh, I'll pass.
The Morning Light - I don't like being yelled at...
The Moldy Peaches - the song was cute the first (and only) time I heard it on the radio, but it doesn't hold up to repeated listenings, in fact, it makes me less likely to bother seeing the movie, too.

The song isn't a fixture in Juno and the movie is actually pretty amusing. At least the first time you see it.
