What aspect of Sarah Palin has the most influence on the economy/business world?

If story placement is an indication, the WSJ believes it's her taste in shoes over her views on foreign policy or energy policy.

That's disturbing for two reasons -

1) it's kind of sexist
2) it buries the story of actual substance.

If the WSJ stood for "World Shoe Journal," you might have a point.

This election doesn't matter. Everyone knows the world's going to end in October when they really fire up that proton accelerator. Yeesh.

One thing is clear...in the context of this presidential election, Sarah Palin is not irrelevant.

agreed. but that plays into the hands of the McCain campaign. So far.

Like you and I discussed when we talked about Obama engaging Palin. It's not 1 comment or one engagement that will matter. It's a series of engagements that will be bad for Obama. (I think that is why he is staying clear of this so far)

I think the same is true here for Palin. This one interview won't matter. But if she keeps giving interviews like this where she is clearly unprepared for the interview - including the debate - it will be bad for Palin (and even worse for McCain).

So. I stand behind my statement. Fashion > Interview. For now.

But it won't. Because the part of the GOP that has been energized by Palin is the part that detests the media and interprets any debunking of claims or posing of difficult questions as "the media beating up on her." It's win-win for McCain.

Rovian brilliance.
