Default McCain suspends campaign to work on bailout package

(Yeah, I know. But I like more reasonable thread titles.)

Interesting move. Politically, it does seem to put Obama in a tough place. He can either (A) keep campaigning and risk looking self-absorbed and not willing to address real issues, or he can (B) suspend his campaign, too, and make McCain the leader and himself the follower. What do you think he'll do? A, B, or something else?

This move makes McCain look desperate. I don't know what Obama should do, but I doubt they're going to solve a lot between now and Friday night so they should debate.

I know a lot of people who are having/attending debate parties on Friday night...on both sides.

People are going to be very disappointed. I think this is a bad idea for McCain overall.

Yeah, a senator who is willing to do the job we pay him for is desperate.

McCain says he wants a bill passed by Monday, so "between now and Friday night" would seem to be the time to work on it. The existing (possibly doomed) bill is coming to a vote Real Soon Now, isn't it?

Translation: McCain won't be campaigning for a little while because he needs to practice like hell for Friday night's debate...er, work on a bailout package.

Yeah, that's it exactly. He should just drop out, concede the race, and go work on the economy then.

Obama agrees with McCain and goes to DC.

Obama's "people" call McCain a stupid old stunt pulling assbagel who is depserately trying to fix the problems McCain himself caused, and advise the sheeples that by electing McCain you can look forward to more of the same instead of a president Obama who would have stopped the problem before it exploded.

In other words, where were you for the last 26 years Johnny? I know where you were: working with Phill Gramm to cause this problem.

winwin for Barry O

Is he going to write the bill himself?
