If Obama insists on a Friday debate, he should debate Biden. They can talk about coal, gun control, the vote on the Iraq war, inappropriate
political ads, etc

To some extent this would be Biden debating himself. Still funny.

THis is the kool aid I was talking about...the idea that this thing must be passed immediately.

I was actually somewhat impressed with the senators yesterday...they're pushing back. Senator from both sides, I might add.

It's not, but something is likely to be done before Congress adjourns next week. Congressmen have planned their time around the adjournment. It's important to them.

It seems as if things are going to happen fast one way or the other. If the choice is to let the chips fall where they may - and I can see merit in that - then that should be a deliberate choice, not something that happens by default because Congress didn't get their act together quickly enough.
