That's why I don't understand. Should we have 6-month worth of food instead? Or 6-month worth of bullets (whatever that means)?

For just food? It ain't in my contract that I gotta pay my rent with cash. I have enough "money" for six months, just not cash. Most of my "bills" can be paid with "money", the only thing I can think I'd need six months worth of cash for is food and/or gas.

Checks are credit transactions. If they're frozen, we're doomed.

On the news last night they said that LDS church cannery has been busier than ever with people going in to can food storage essentials. Guess I should make a trip down. I have plenty of rice. Probably should get some flour and oil and sugar and beans.

I think we'll be OK, but it doesn't hurt to plan for the unexpected. Unemployment is still under 10%.

Everybody head to Utah! Man, there's going to be a traffic jam on I-80.

Gotta hand it to the Mormons on this one... most religions preach the tribulation, they actually get ready for it!

Wait. Utah? Stuck in a bunker with no beer or coffee? Hm.... maybe I'll take my chances out here.

What's a church cannery? Is it a big kitchen full of canning supplies that church members can take their vegetables to so they don't have to can them at home? Or ???
