I chanced upon the assigned reading material for Fall 2002 and they had a section on "Survival Analysis" by Klein and Moeschberger.
Since I do not have that book, I cannot tell whether that reading material has been replaced by something else or it's simply been taken out. Does anyone know about this??? |

Exam 4 used to consist of 4 parts:
Probability Survival Analysis Regression & Time Series Credibility Starting Spring 2003, Survival and Probability were merged into one section, with much of the survival stuff being omitted. The ASM manual offers a brief commentary on this, and how the respective weightings of topics have probably changed. |

Archie is correct, that textbook by Klein was taken off the syllabus starting in 2003, at which time they replaced it by readings in Loss Models as well as a study note available at the SOA's website. You can download that studynote by
by clicking here (it's a large pdf so be warned!) It's titled 4-23-03 "Estimation, Evaluation and Selection of Actuarial Models" |

Hi all! (This is my first time posting on this forum)
I will be writing c4 in November 2003. I just got a copy of the 2002 Actex and how to pass study manuals from my friend. I am aware that the syllabus of c4 changed after 2002, and is wondering can I get away with it by just using the 2002 study manuals? I am a poor student and don't really want to buy another study manuals unless I absolutely have to. Any insights are greatly appreciate! Thanks! |
