Who?

This is one of few posts in the 9,000 I have made that I'm actually not trying to egg anyone on or otherwise antagonize....

Just a commentary..was thinking about this on Saturday when I saw all of the new tournaments and all of the players. Bill Frist, epic fail.

Sorry to hear that, but this gets you out of that fish bowl and see that there is a bigger and better online world out there.

Bill Frist wannabes in the government. Of course, they probably don't read AO, so maybe we're safe gloating, but I think it's bad luck. The gov't can kill online poker in a dozen different ways if it really puts its mind to it.

Nah, don't worry about it. They are drawing dead.

Actually, another thing I'm afraid of is the opposite. I'm afraid of US gov't legalizing poker, but letting the states ban it if they choose to. What poker sites might then do is go legit and ban the players from those states, in exchange for operating legally most everywhere else.

We can fade the half-hearted UIGEA BS, but there is no getting around the sites themselves banning you from playing. This would be very bad news to New Jersey players like us, since NJ is one of the 11 states that explicitly bans online gambling.

Yeah, definitely the sites banning you themselves because that is a bit tougher to work around.

Although, I'm very very skeptical of the US legalizing it. Don't think it will happen. But if it does, I think it would bring alot of "weak tights" back in or in for the first time. If you are too afraid to play now because Frist says it is bad...I doubt you will ever 5 bet bluff me.

I didn't realize NJ bans online gambling. I have a friend that wouldn't play online poker anymore when theUIGEA went into effect until I convinced him that it wasn't illegal to play...just illegal for US Banks to fund his habit. I'm sure he'll be pissed at me once I tell him he's been breaking the law in NJ this whole time

Tell him not to worry, he'll be fine as long as he doesn't drop the soap.
