Never had trouble running Vista on our desktop. However, we did encounter some trouble with the latest Windows Service Pack 1 Update, but I must say that Dell's service team is outstanding. Supposely, XP also had problems when it first came out. I guess we will wait and see.

Do you plan to run with Windows 7 next year, or is this the last Windows experience you plan to have? |

With VirtualBox, you get the full functionality of a stand-alone Windows environment. Plus, VirtualBox is free too. The only downside is that you have to buy an OEM copy of XP, but this is a minimal expense IMO. |

E has good point.
I actually use Crossover and VMware together. Crossover is great for applications that it specifically support, office, photoshop and so forth and it brings a very nice integration into native OS environment. I believe Crossover's main focus is to bring office/photoshop for linux as those 2 applications are considered the biggest hurdle for migrating to linux. I use Crossover mainly for Onenote. There are times when a stand-alone Windows environment is needed and there is no substitute . |
