I am freaking hilarious. Because of that, I don't think I'm always taken seriously, especially in terms of career advancement.

IFYP and I wouldn't be surprised that this phrase might also be missing wrt your work product(s). Note: I'm not saying that it is or that it isn't a condition you have, but it should be an issue to ponder and seek additional feedback.
