What's the difference between a surplus note and a capital note? Are these the same?
Is unassigned surplus = assets (according to SAP) - liabilities (according to SAP) - paid-in capital - contributed surplus - special surplus funds? |

Notes: Pretty much the same, yes.
Unass. Surp: I think that's about right. Unassigned Surplus is really about the same as retained earnings.
