Does anyone have the practice exams only? It's still telling me that the material is being updated. Has anyone been able to access them?

You are talking about the link under "My Stuff" called Joint Exams 3F/MFE Sample Exams? My link also says they are updating the material.

As far as Brownian Motion and Ito goes I'd suggest the ASM owners look at those sections. It was vastly better than Cross's segment though I only watched the 2008 version.

I hope we get a practice exam posted soon...

I think I need to go back and review derivatives. It feels like I haven't worked with them in years.

I'm enrolled in one of the live seminars. I've tried going out to the TIA website to look at their material but it also says it is in the course of updating. Does anyone know if we have to wait until after the seminar to access any lectures and practice exams?

It's not that you have to wait until after the seminar, it is truely that the material isn't ready yet.

If you look at the 2008 version of the videos you will see that they are highly lacking and badly needed a refresher. So Bill is revamping the entire class and posting things as he goes. I'm sure that the new material will be up soon- he has been making great progress. Just keep an eye open, and if you really need practice problems already (which I can't even imagine since I'm never through all the material this far before the exam) I would work the practice problems listed by the SOA, or possibly buy a set of practice exams online (the ASM supplement to the 3rd edition has some in it, and Actuarial Brew offers a set of just practice exams- both are worth about $30) because even if the TIA ones were ready there is no way they will last you the remaining months to cover.
Good Luck

Default Section E.2 Problem #8

Can someone either confirm or correct my work from this problem?

Sharpe Ratios are equal, therefore:
(0.135 - r)/0.15 = (0.015 - r)/0.25
0.03375 - 0.25r = 0.00225 - 0.15r
0.0315 = 0.1r
r = .315

Bill listed r = 9%

That's a typo. "0.015" should have been "0.165".

As far as BM goes... it has taken me a long time working the same set of problems, but I am starting to get it much better now. It is a peculiar concept and I think it will take some time with any set of materials to be able to understand and work it.
