Agreed.

Sometimes hearing from a different prospective is all you need. Some explanations click better with one group of people and not with others.

If you don't get a particular section of any test, having multiple sources of learning material is very helpful.

Default Estimating Volatility

Since Bill is not going to be updating the website for the next few weeks, I am going to be going back and reviewing old material. Can someone answer this question?

On the B-Formula Sheet under IV. Estimating Volatility, it states the variance = SUM[(x-sample mean)^2] * n/(n-1). Should this be *1/(n-1)??

Did I miss something? Why did he stop updating the site? According to the study schedule we should just be finishing up G and starting practice tests, but he doesn't have either posted. I can't access the blog, so if something was mentioned there then I've missed it. So, does anyone know why the posts have fallen behind schedule?

Online Seminar Update
from TIA's Exam MFE Blog by Bill

I apologize for not having updated my online seminar lately. I’ve been making updates to my live seminar, which starts in a week. As soon as I’m back from Chicago I will finish up the lessons (I have yet to anything from Section G), make fixes to old lessons that you all have pointed out, and then work on the practice exams. There will be many new problems (both related to the new material, and harder problems related to the current material) in the exams based on feedback we’ve had that suggests the prior exams (which are similar in difficulty to the single published SOA exam) are too easy compared to the exams the SOA has not published.

Bill
Live seminar dates:
# To be held over 4½ days in Chicago, IL: 3/27 - 3/31.

Default SOA Practice Problems

Has anyone from Bill's course attempted the problems on the SOA website?

Let me know what you think...

It is coming very soon. Bill said most of the missing pieces should be done this weekend. I also have 250 problems from the live seminar to post. They should be up by tomorrow. Sorry for the delays.
