Pronger was way too expensive, he is just about washed up. Flyers have to win this year or it's a big bust.

Sabres aren't doing much to impress me - they had an ok draft, they still need a big splash during Free Agency, but I doubt that'll happen.

Flyers overpaid quite a bit for a guy with 1 year left on his contract. If they manage to keep him for a few more years, it makes the deal a little more decent. I'd be curious to know how many teams made good offers for Pronger.

Looking forward to see what Emery can pull off for the Flyers. Hopefully some of the veterans settle him down.

I think we'll be seeing this more and more as teams do not want to overpay marginal players they expect to go to arbitrage.
