Default Are Obama's policies socialism?

Follow-up question:
Were the policies from the last 8 years fascism?

Is one of these claims true? Both? Both just hyperbole? Parabola?

You probably mean nazism. To answer your question: last 8 years were neither fascism nor nazism.

Government control of the economy is a cornerstone of socialist agenda, so anyone promoting increase of government control would be a socialist. Comrade W. falls in that category too.

Handing money to the elite businessmen at the expense of the regular guy is facism. What is socialistic about any of the policies?

I do not recall giving money to elite businessmen, I do remember nationalizing financial institutions though.

wiki does not agree with you on the definition of the fascism either.

Both moved closer to those respective forms of Gov't.

Fortunately neither got (or will get) all the way there.

would they if given the chance? Much closer than I'd prefer (on both sides).

I think many, perhaps most, people who spend time on political discussion forums don't know much about fascism or socialism.

Which type of Gov't would you say is most closely related to Single Payor HC?
