This should really be in "Job Hunting for Beginners"...
I get an unsolicited e-mail from someone who had just graduated from college and is looking for an entry-level actuarial job. OK The e-mail is rather long. Lots of "challenging opportunities", "independent thinker" and other fluff. Not so good. English is obviously not the writer's native language. The letter is full of errors. (Yes, it is a letter, and I expect that it will be proofread before being sent out) Worse. Exams are not mentioned anywhere, but I figure they must be on the resume. But...there is no resume attached. There is a line along: "if you are interested in my resume, please contact me at..." ![]() |
