Aspiring actuaries will now be able to get a South African qualification, instead of doing it through the UK, the Actuarial Society said on Tuesday.
"The Actuarial Society of South Africa last night launched South Africa's very own professional actuarial qualification," a statement from the society read.
Society president Garth Griffin describes the introduction of the home grown actuarial qualification as a "tremendous milestone".
