-After submitting the IA, and during June and part of July, do the NEAS Corporate Finanace and Time Series for the VEE's that I have left. Take the VEE tests the week of July 12th.
-After I take the VEE tests, I'll already know if I failed C or not (grades will probably come out around July 4th.)
-After the VEE's, I'll either start studying for C again or start on the FA (should have my IA results by then)
-If I failed exam C, consider August a "bonus sitting", but I'll really be preparing for the November sitting. After the November sitting (or after learning that I passed in August), start on the FA.
-If I passed exam C in May, just start on the FA and sign up for the first available APC.

With this strategy, I feel like even if I failed the May sitting, I won't spend all year just on exam C and will get at least the IA and my VEE's done in 2010 while preparing to pass C in November.
Have you done any modules yet?

No. I was estimating 50 hours per module. Is that about right or does it take longer?

ETA: Now that I'm looking at some posts, looks like IA in 1.5 months is pretty ambitious. Hopefully I can shoot for that, though. Then a month to cram for the VEE's.

I have a similar plan.

I've already submitted my IA and I hope to hear back in the next two weeks.

I'm about half way through module 6 and I plan on taking the Econ CLEP for VEE (already have credit for finance and stat).

If everything goes well I'll take AFE in the Fall and try to cram a couple of FSA modules in Nov/Dec.

I haven't kept up with the number of hours, but I would be very surprised if you could get through all of the reading for five modules, complete four satisfactory EOMs, and complete the IA in a single month. Based on your proposed study schedule for C you can and apparently do put in more hours per week than I do, but that's still a ridiculous amount of material to get through in that short amount of time. (As an aside, I didn't use NEAS for the VEEs, but I'm surprised you are taking 1-2 months on two of them when you only plan to take 1 month on the first five modules).

I've only completed the first EOM so far, but even that exercise required some time to work out before I could make a quality submission. Don't forget, they grade all of the EOMs now and if yours doesn't stack up they will require you to resubmit and/or do another exercise altogether.

I'm also close to an ASA and my tentative schedule is:
Exam C April (2nd sitting, hopefully two tries is all it takes)
Mods 2-4 May-July
Mod 5/IA August
Mods 6-7 Sept-Oct
Mod 8/FA Nov
APC when I qualify

Even though that assumes I pass everything when I attempt it, I think that's a more realistic schedule than you're setting up. And if I actually get my ASA in early 2011 because I get tripped up on one of C/IA/FA, so be it.

In any case, I do wish you luck, and I know that with proper motivation and circumstances you can probably pretty much complete your ASA by the end of the year. Just don't underestimate how long it takes to go through the modules.

8 hours of studying per day * 31 days = 248 hours. Assuming he sleeps 8 hrs a night and studies 8 hours per day.... I don't know how he'll have time to get work done... or eat for that matter

plus you're coming straight off of studying for the C exam with no break in between. i don't see how it's possible, but hey, best of luck.

Thanks for the insight. My study schedule is just preliminary... probably going to have to stretch out the modules a little bit after your guys' feedback.

If it is 50 hour/module though, doing it in 6 weeks wouldn't be too difficult. 5 hours a weekday plus 8 hours per weekend day. How long do the EOM exercises take to get graded? I believe you can't move on to the next module until the last one is graded, right?

They let you keep moving through the regular modules while they grade your previous submissions. You get a chance to self-assess when you submit your EOM. They provide a sample solution and you read it and mark your submission as meets minimum requirements or not. If you pass yourself you go to the next module while you wait for them to grade your submission.

My understanding is that the IA and FA are stopping points, and they will grade any ungraded EOMs when you submit them. They do apparently allow you to move on to the later modules after you submit the IA. I haven't gotten far enough in the process to know for sure, so maybe some of this is wrong.
