Default interaction factors in GLM

need help.

if age-gender is an interaction factor in the model, could I include either age or gender or both as factor(s) in the same model ?

Assumed that the single factor age and gender proved to be signifacant.

Certainly.. as you said, make sure they are significant and the model doesn't violate assumptions
