I believe most Arab-Americans in Dearborn would identify themselves as Muslim.

I interpreted the shirt to be in defiance of the 9/11 attacks which is what the phrase "You can't bring us down" seems to indicate.

Indeed. But why the hell is the school mascot a stand in for the plane? That's the part that makes it moderately offensive.
