I created a Personal.xls in my XLStart folder. When I open a file it also opens the Personal.xls. How do I hide it so this file is not always showing on my toolbar everytime I open Excel?

Just hide the spreadsheet. It will still open but will be hidden.

Is there anyway to not have to exit out of the Workbook and actual the Excel program when you have a personal.xlsb file or is that the minor disadvantage? I'm guessing I have to close out of Excel itself because the personal.xlsb, though hidden, is still open after I close out of another file.

I've got my personal.xls hidden. Is it any more efficient to have it saved as an add-in instead?

How do I do this? I get a message box saying that a workbook must contain one visible sheet.

I thought add-in's only consisted of UDF and not macros.

In the spreadsheet, Windows -> Hide. Make sure you save it on exit.
