I'm curious about printing, though I don't see using it much. I print next to nothing at home these days.

I have mixed feelings about multi-tasking. I think it will be good in some ways, bad in others. I really like writing notes as I read things, so I'm looking forward to being able to fast-switch between reading apps (Kindle, GoodReader, Reeder, etc.) and note-taking apps (e.g. Evernote, Simplenote, etc.). Fast-switching between email and Safari will also be nice when I'm emailing sites to people.

Could you elaborate on the bolded? Curious as to what you consider the bad parts of it.

More invitation to get distracted while reading. One thing I've really come to appreciate about iPad "1.0" is that it's a simplification of computing. The "one thing at a time," siloed approach to software is refreshing in a lot of ways. In time, that'll all go away.

I'm probably in a minority on this. (Shocking!)

For now, Kindle is a bit too dedicated for the price. I'll buy when it's in the $75 range. Amazon is making enough money on me right now.

One thing I'm looking forward to for 4.2 (on the iPhone anyway) is handling of .ICS calendar files.

It looks like you can get a 2nd gen Kindle off of E-bay in that range. IMO, I prefer the 2nd Generation the most of the 3. It had a nice solid feel.

I stopped by an AT&T store to check out the Galaxy Tab. Pretty nice, and seems smoother than some Android phones that I played with - like going from horizontal to vertical screen layout, scrolling through a webpage, etc. Not sure if it's Froyo or the CPU. Anyway, as much as it's cool, it's just too damn expensive compared to the iPad with more screen real estate.

Fortunately, there are plenty of competitive Android tablets coming to the market, if they haven't already. Notion Ink's Adam looks awesome, but not yet ready for primetime. Not sure about ViewSonic's tablet. Archos have a few available already, but does not include Android Market. However, hacker have already figured out a sideloading hack to fix that problem.

Thoughts on other Android tablets to keep an eye on? Especially if any are up for sale for Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

I'd avoid any of the tablets with a resistive screen.

Just ordered an Archos tablet from Amazon. Getting it for our youngest kid, who, thought autistic, really knows his way around daddy's iphone.
