Default Winston Group, Gallup: "Hey, lets study the demographics of the tea party"

Note to liberals, please remove all sharp objects from your immediate vicinity before continuing.

The Winston Group and Gallup conducted polls to determine tea party demographics and found that the tea party is extremely representative of the population at large, demographically. Some highlights:

Quote:
The national breakdown of the Tea Party composition is 57 percent Republican, 28 percent Independent and 13 percent Democratic, according to three national polls by the Winston Group, a Republican-leaning firm that conducted the surveys on behalf of an education advocacy group. Two-thirds of the group call themselves conservative, 26 are moderate and 8 percent say they are liberal.
Racial breakdowns of tea party vs general population as per gallup (seriously Turkey Slice, give your scissors to the guy in the next cube):

Tea Party Supporters -- General Population
White: 79 -- 75
Black: 6 -- 11
Other: 15 -- 15

See what happens when you assume?

That the tea party is a bunch of white unemployed hillbillies who have nothing better to do.

I mean they are, but not any more than the population at large.

Way to knock down a strawman. Well done. The only assumption I ever made/saw was that teabaggers were mostly of republicans (which according to you data is true) and would siphon off otherwise-republican voters in the elections where they have a candidate.

Come on, you don't think the general population is 57% R, 28% I and 13% D?
