The fact that they did it and still have the technical capability to do it easily is a big problem. Yesterday it was piracy, tomorrow it's another reason like some DMCA nonsense or the government not liking what somebody published.

Any other incidents that are a few years and have been resolved you want to complain about? I guess you don't use any Sony products anymore because they once put a rootkit on a CD. Or Google since they were caught wardriving in the past.

I'm looking forward to using my Kindle Touch. I think it will be nice having a dedicated e-reader.

Now if it could just manufacture more time to read. . .

Me using Google doesn't give them the ability to take away anything I paid for. I don't use anything by Sony, but if their CD had a rootkit it wouldn't affect me since I use Linux with auto-insert launching disabled for the CD.

The only thing to consider is if the 3G worth the extra price.

It feels like the extra monthly fee I pay for the iPhone hotspot gets cheaper every day. It makes it unnecessary to buy the 3G version of iPads, Kindles, etc.

That's why I recommend it to so many people. I also know several people that canceled their $60/month MiFi subscription in favor of using the iPhone as a hotspot.

What does the iphone hotspot add on cost? I was looking around on att and didn't even see an option to add it to my account. Maybe they're making things difficult if you have an old unlimited iphone data add on.

You turn it on from the Settings app on the iPhone. It's $20/month with Verizon. No contract (cancel it anytime).
