In case you needed instructions for rooting the EVO:
1) Visit http://unrevoked.com/ on your EVO and click to download. You will need to go to Settings --> Applications and check the box for Unknown Sources as the Unrevoked program is a non-market app. 2) Open the Unrevoked app. 3) Click the Start button. 4) That's it! No reboot or anything else necessary. |

Just downloaded an app called SystemPanel. It was $3 but it definitely seems worth it. I've not delved too deep in, but you can see what programs are sucking CPU cycles and what is taking a toll on your battery. I am interested to see what is the major battery hit for me.
There is a light version but it doesn't have the monitor feature which would be the most interesting part for me. It is getting 5 stars from every reviewer. I think its the first app I've seen that has that. |

Nook runs on Android. Maybe the new $150 wi-fi only one is what I should look at...

I'll knock the kid concern off my list since it would be my kid. Plus I've got twins, so when one gets tired, I'll just swap them out. |
