Default Fear

What is it that keeps me from sleep at 4 in the morning? What drives the mind past the obstacles set before it. Thought focused, trying to get to that soulful quite that borders sleep. Every step taken into the dark peaceful woods is driven back, looping around until one finds themselves on the busy road leading into tomorrow.

The chemicals work the magic, but at what terrible cost. Is it fear? Could be. But for me, writing weakens it. Like Mr. King, my fears are no longer mine after writing them down... but yours.

Distilled by the imperfect word the resistance is broken, the fear dissipates with each reading. So, what keeps you up at night?

For me its the mundane difficulty of paying the mortgage, and the sharp knife of perfection I demand of my past, even though those actions cannot be undone.

Anyone else for sharing fears?

My fears are:

1. The "Time of Jacob's Trouble" (aka "The Tribulation") will occur in my lifetime.

2. The wineshops will stop stocking gran reserva riojas, banyuls, first-growth bordeaux and Kilikanoon "Oracle".

3. My car won't start in the morning.

Boy, desperately trying not to be one of ya, but sorry to say, I'm still up and it's almost FIVE AM! Must be because I slept right after work and woke up at midnight! It was a long day of drinking at work Friday, the exam was THAT BAD.

My deepest fear!? That's a nobrainer! Failing TWO exams next sitting!!!!

My biggest fear is the return of the space lobster and the destruction of two years of work.
