Why, has your epilepsy become drug-resistant? If that (or some other undisclosed medical condition) is not your issue, then I'd say probably no.

It looks like its a more extreme version of Atkins. Have you tried that?

ketogenic diet definitely has its place in teh fat loss game. so it depends on what your goals are and how you plan to apply the diet. imo, long term keto diet is a bad idea. i prefer cycles of 1 day no carbs followed by 1 day high carbs; rinse-repeat

I like to do keto most of the time with selective carb-ups the day before I work out or do sports. Last friday I had an 1800 calorie carb explosion Smoky Mountain Meatball Spaghetti plate at Boston Pizza and still lost 2 lbs for the week. Go figure.

How serious are you about (a) weight loss and (b) pain?

any extreme diet will work for about a month.

if you eat nothing but candy for a month you will probably lose weight.

Keto is not extreme. It's an easy way to reduce hunger because the fat makes you feel full. Just stick to whatever protein, and good fat from nuts, olive oil etc.

Eating candy for a month will probably give you scurvy and vitamin B deficiency. Also, cavities and diabetes ;p

Skittles, ftw! I've read several times that they have enough Vitamin C to stave off scurvy. Could be true, I suppose.

DJZ, all of these diets you are trying were in fad back in 1989.

Send me a $1,000 on PokerStars and you can sleep on my couch for a week and eat what I eat.
