Anecdotal evidence coming...
Out of everybody in my high school class that could have become a cop, the only one that did, who is now a state trooper, was one of the most overtly racist, fight-starting, disrespectful, and alcoholic amongst all. |

Odd. All of the cops I know personally are nice guys. All of the ones I knew before they became cops were nice guys before.
Of course there's also the different cultures of different agencies. Some are more professional than others. Wasn't Katrina the one where the police were looting?
