I really don't see how this conversation is off limits. If you say, "On this exam there was a question that asked you to calculate the absolute value of the difference between kurtosis and skewness of a Gamma distribution with alpha = 2 and theta = 250" then I agree you've violated the confidentiality agreement.(Made up question for the example)

If you're just saying Bayesian credibility was on there or I encountered coherency risk measures, you're not giving out any sort of new information. The SOA already told us this information. They say on their syllabus, "These are the topics covered by the test." Discussing syllabus content isn't against the rules so it seems like the issue people have is the fact that we are discussing very specific topics and ones that we saw a question on.

But how is me saying that I saw the Var(TVaR) on my sitting of C any worse than me saying I saw a present value of an annuity question on FM? It's on the syllabus, so it's assumed that there will be a question on it on a test at some point. If I said, this is the set up of the question they gave me on Var(TVaR), then I'd be giving someone an edge. That's just how I see it.

A better question to ask would be "What are teh core topics that must be mastered in order to pass teh Exam?"

Look at the sample questions that are available . . . that should give a good idea of part of the answer to this question.

Focus on mastering those core topics. No need to try and learn those esoteric topics which may (or, more likely, will not) be asked. You can pass the Exam w/o knowing anything about Anderson-Darling.
