The Jets are usual suspects?

1) I Like NO as a home team and believe Favre needs a few games to get into the groove, if he can get into one. Plus with Rice out - I really like NO. However, they are a good team, so other opportunities should arise

2) NYG should be a big pick, but boy is this team banged up. I just don't trust them, though may be the most logical pick

3) Hate road favorites (avoid Miami, Atl, Ind, GB, SF, AZ, Dal & SD) - especially early in the season when you just don't know who will be good

4) Don't trust Chicago at all. Just not a good team, may not need to pick this year

5) Cin & Balt too good to pick against

6) TB & Jax not good enough to pick

7) Not sure how good TN is, but I think Oak is better this year and spread is artificially high

all in all I would go NO, unless you believe NYG are more solid than I do. TN would probably be the next pick. I see no easy give me this week

Agree with Patience that this is a brutal week 1, especially considering we really dont know much about these teams.

I took GB in my pool and will not be surprised much if I go one and done. However, I'm an eagles fan and I really do not think we will win that game.

Can you rebuy after a week 1 loss?

If so, I would be tempted to take ARZ. If not, I stick with the home favorites and either go NYG or TEN.

I would stay off NO right now, I hate picking Thursday night games, though week 1 mitigates that some. Add in that they are a passing offensive, so they might not be in sync week 1, plus they are playing a decent team so you should be able to get them late with a better pick.

also, keep a close eye on McNabbs health - Dallas could become a better pick

Tennessee. It's really not close. Tied for the highest spread and they have absolutely no utility to hold on to going forward. Oakland is better, but relax on that.

Has anyone started an AO survivor pool on Yahoo?

I don't like taking the most popular pick in week 1, and I think that NYG will be that pick.

I'm leaning TN.

I agree that this is a brutal week 1. Will be lots of carnage.
