This is what total frustration looks like. Still wincing over Bush's assumption of office, the lefties are apoplectic that he is now a widely respected wartime leader, with approval ratings that Clinton and Dick Morris only dreamed of (and based on actual historical accomplishments, no less). They've been reduced to picking on a niece with a substance abuse problem, along with daughters who partake in routine college partying. None of whom "got away" with anything. It's going to be a long eight years for you folks.

I believe the answer to the Captains question is that Tony pointed out an instance of someone being caught and convicted under a law as evidence of them being "above" the law--which of course doesn't make any sense.

Our superhero, Captain America, is right about everything - all of the time!

Tony, did it go over your head?

Hey! Don't think you're getting extra credit for that one!

No, I said "the Bushies think they are above the law". They think they should get a free pass just because of the family name.

i agree with you that this is crap but if i recall the GOP was not above such tactics either - i recall rush calling Chelsea ugly at one point - how immature is that.

Why do you say they think they should get a free pass?

Have you ever exceeded a posted speed limit? Ever jay walked?

I wouldn't excuse their behavior, but suggesting that they consider themselves above the law based on mistakes that they've made seems unfair to me.

it is true the more connected you are, the less likely it is in this country that you will be punished for a crime. how many rich kids do you know that did not serve jail time for a drug bust because their parents knew somebody, while someone on the other side of the tracks was SOL and got six months.

Of course that's true. But it doesn't answer my question.

One night in the Leon County lockup is probably sufficient punishment.
