Default Manual you use for Exam2-B

What manual do you use? I am a new comer and want to take this exam next May. Sorry if this topic has been discussed before.

Thanks for your input.

I used Dave Farber's manual. It's produced through ASM and I found it quite thorough. I also used Rick G's solutions to the old exams. Those guys are the two primary producers of study materials for the EA exams. I found it good to get both of their perspectives. Good luck.

Dave Farber makes the only manual worth discussing. Look for it on any of the major actuarial booksellers.

You'll probably find that 90% of people on here use a seminar. Dave Farber and Rick Groszkiewicz both teach live seminars and Rick has an online seminar through TIA. See http://www.theinfiniteactuary.com/?page=ea_2b for details on the online seminar.

I used Dave's manual in addition to Rick's online seminars for both 2A and 2B and highly recommend that approach. Look around the forum if you want reviews of the live seminars. Just to be clear: No decent study guide exists other than Dave's.

What those two said. Though, I didn't use Farber's manual for EA-2A last fall and only got it in the last two weeks of prep for EA-2B, and failed both (after acing the prelims)... so...

Well, if I pass, after using Farber's manual and Rick's slides in an integrated approach, you have a third 'aye'

Daves study manual is great, but be sure to get detailed solutions to prior exams as well. At least the most recent ones.

Does anyone want to sell EA-2B study material? I posted on 'Buy & Sell Actuarial Study Materials' and nobody responded. I would prefer ASM previous study guide and solutions to previous exams.
