Default Working at NetFlix?

Does anyone have any experience working here?

http://www.netflix.com/Jobs

Seems like it would be tougher to get a job here than pass actuarial exams, I'm not sure though.

I read the first presentation in that link, it seemed to be very intimidating.

Most actuaries pass through Netflix as an "onboarding" type of experience as an introduction to the field. I took a less traditional route, but I'm sure that you'll find plenty of actuaries here who went through the experience.

Looks like a piece of trash some marketing "wizard" put together to me.

Why are their superstar managers (that passed the "keeper test") hiring employees that can't get the job done in the first place?

Netflix...seems like they should only have to employ like 5 people anyways in management and then get some fkcin robots to do the rest.

The keeper test is dubious in the first place.

The goal of the manager should be to create an impenetrable team atmosphere.

A flying V, if you will.

I worked there back in the VHS days. We were constantly getting back packages with videocasettes that had been crushed in the mail; that place was bleeding money. I suggested they switch to DVDs but they said that was not something a pro team player would say and they gave me a severance package. It wasn't that generous.

I didn't really mind, their actuarial study policy was not very good and most of my coworkers at the time were not passing their exams, I'd say we had about a 10% pass rate. I don't think many of them have even their ASAs now.

Given that the stock has tripled in the past year, up 540% in the past 5 years, I'd say they know what they are doing.

Suggest read the entire presentation, you will learn a lot. You might even be able to identify with some of the pitfalls they highlight from failed companies.
