"The Trees" by Rush, from the 1978 album Hemispheres. It's about a class struggle in the forest between oaks (upper) and maples (lower). I had heard this song before but never caught the ending until now:

So the maples formed a union
And demanded equal rights.
"The oaks are just too greedy;

Now there's no more oak oppression,
For they passed a noble law,
And the trees are all kept equal
By hatchet, axe, and saw.
