I'd prefer that they actually always thought ahead.

I heard they were confiscating snow globes because they had more than 3oz of liquid. Is that true?

Also, they say you can't turn on cell phones or electronic devices when the plane is taking off. Why is that? If it's a danger, shouldn't they be banned so terrorists don't take down a plane by turning on their GameBoys and iPhones?

I got groped twice during my xmas vacation, for various reasons. I didn't want to go through the Rapiscan, I want to highlight the idiocy of our "security" measures, I wanted to assess how intrusive the gropes were so I would know what I can still sneak on an airplane, and I kinda like people touching my junk

The real reason is they want you paying attention if something goes wrong.

I'm not sure how much I agree. A (successful) conspiracy could create as much carnage and infrastructure damage as 9/11 by targetting the right mass transit spot. And it would be far easier than reattempting another 9/11 airplane scenario.

What's the upshot ?

When you see the hulky mannish possibly female passenger in the burqa boarding the plane with you, do you still feel indignation about her rights? Or are the gropings a little more meh in your mind?

The upshot is I didn't get unnecessary xrays, I have a decent idea how far I can go crotching something on a plane, and someone touched my junk

I don't care much about the dude/chick in the burqa. No one's taking down a plane again, and if they do it will not be because we didn't have enough security.
