The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors voted today to ban medical marijuana dispensaries and limit patients' ability to grow plants.

The unanimous vote came after a couple hours of testimony, mostly from opponents who argued that the ordinance left medical marijuana patients without any safe way to get cannabis legally. Supervisors took the vote without any debate or making any comments.

"Have some compassion on those who need it," asked Juan Carlos Mendoza of Chino, who says he uses medical marijuana to deal with injuries he suffered as a veteran in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The county is the latest jurisdiction to impose a ban. Almost all the cities in the Inland area and Riverside County have enacted similar ordinances.

an Bernardino County's ordinance defines dispensaries as any group of three or more people involved in cultivating or distributing marijuana. It also would ban patients from growing marijuana outdoors.

The county has had a moratorium in place since 2009 that is due to expire in June.

The citizens who were there spoke unanimously in favor of keeping it legal. The board voted unanimously to make it illegal.

why should they have to?

the county voiced that they want to be able to smoke pot at home, yet the people that represent them chose to do the opposite.

this is amerika at it's finest, the people in power do as they please.
