I failed my first sitting for P as well... with a 5. I also had my whole family rooting for me when I had to announce my failure. In addition, my brother received his outstanding DAT score during the same weekend, so you can imagine the light I was in. Yeah it sucks, but it's almost necessary to give you the motivation to study harder, practice harder, and hit the next exam like a freight train. My next two sittings (P and FM) were successful because I made the exams my top priority. You learn to laugh when other students complain about the difficulty of their college courses.
These exams are tough but they will earn you both respect from yourself and those around you, so keep going. Without failure, there is no success.
