Default Possible exploit

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/gaming/odds/index.htm

The kc chiefs game has an overunder of 50.5 at one site and 42 at another site. you could place opposing wagers at the various site and be assured to win. You would only be down the juice that they charge, but if the score is 43-50 you would win both bets.

USA Today's odds are flaky. Does Danny Sheridan still quote odds in the hundred-thousands-to-one range for preseason odds to win championships? I think in the Browns 2.0's expansion year he had them at million-to-one. He had somebody at million-to-one I'm sure.

I think USAToday put the PHI-GB line for InterTops in the wrong place.

Danny Sheridan sometimes puts actual odds out, not betting odds. Many casinos cap their odds bets at 5000 or 10000:1, even though the true odds are millions to one (such as Joe Gibbs returning to coach WAS).

Boy, who said Chiefs fans can't stop thinking about the Rams ..

I think that year the Rams were only 800,000 to 1.

Don't know about online, but the juice from bookies is 10%. In order for this to be a good bet you would need at least a 4.76% of winning both ways. In general, if the juice is X% then you need to win both ways at least X% / (2+X%) of the time to break even.

I heard the million-to-one team this year was the Texans (if not at this place then somewhere). I could be wrong, but I was tempted to place $20 on it.

I think 3R is right, those look like the GB-Phil numbers, so you couldn't bet that line.

Many over unders are pretty close, so if you could actually do the two bets the odds that it is under the 50.5 would be 50-50, so I would say the odds of it being under by less than 8 points must be close to 40%.

Well, I have never placed a bet on sports before, I just said "tempted". Besides, I think you go into that proposition willing to lose the $20.

A bet of $1 still would have been a nice payoff.
