Default House passes bill with... unusual characteristics!

Another bill will become law unless the Senate acts.

Quote:
DEADLINE FOR CONSIDERATION OF LEGISLATION FUNDING THE GOVERNMENT FOR THE REMAINDER OF FISCAL YEAR 2011.—If the House has not received
a message from the Senate before April 6, 2011, stating that it has passed a measure providing for the appropriations for the departments and agencies of the Government for the remainder of fiscal year 2011, the provisions of H.R. 1, as passed by the House on February 19, 2011, are hereby enacted into law.
I didn't know they could do that. Shades of the time on Doonesbury where they "laid off" President Ford.

Why does Page 4, after line 2, read "Passed the House of Representatives April 1, 2011."? [emphasis added]

Because it was passed last Friday. The bill it intends to implement was passed in Feb.

It may have been a joke, but it is a real bill in the House and was actually passed last Friday 221 - 202 with 1 voting present.

I didn't think Obama had a vote in the House.
