He may have committed, right? I guess without a trial it's easier to know he was guilty.

It would depend on the circumstances. If he were unarmed, alone, and in the US, I would absolutely not be okay with killing him. Under the actual circumstances (lots of allies, known and probably unknown weapons around, and the risk of the Pakistani army showing up at any minute) I am not too upset that our soldiers killed him.

I didn't say that. I did imply that in this case, a trial would not have increased anyone's certainty as to bin Laden's role in the terrorist attacks.
