The poll isn't asking if we "should" show it. It's just asking if you'd look.
Few people would have the will power to look away. I'm not one of them. Most people are fascinated by death and carnage, which is why you end up with so many gaper delays when there is an auto accident. So, there will be no surprises with the results in this poll. I have no need to see the photo and will be happy not seeing it. But if it's there, I'll take a look. And depending on how gruesome, I may regret it. But that won't stop me, or most others from taking a peek. What that means to me is no more than horrifying flashbacks. What it may mean to radicals in the Arab world I can't speak to. But I only imagine it will recruit martyr hopefuls. If it's never shown, then yay! If it is, then we will have to deal with the aftermath. |
