I think we were 45 minutes away from having those 10 year old leaky shells from landing in New York.
Along with that tube of botulism and the nuke piece buried in the guys garden, quite an arsenal we've found. Well worth 500 soldiers dying. (By the way, supporting the deaths of 500 soldiers over an illegal invasion - that's anti American. Questioning your leaders is as democratic and American as it gets.) |

Removed one of the most ruthless dictators in the world, since Joseph Stalin. Seriously restricted flow of funds and training programs of terrorist groups. Shut off development of WMD's. Took cache's of WMD's out of the hands of said dictator. Oh, and for good measure, by showing the world that we will stand up to terrorism, got Libya to surrender WMD's as well. "Illegal". I suggest you read your consitution. |

Someone tells us that God loves us as a father loves his children. We are reassured. But then something awful happens. Some qualification is made.... We are reassured again. But then perhaps we ask: what is this assurance of God's (appropriately qualified) love worth, what is this apparent guarantee really a guarantee against? Just what would have to happen not merely (morally and wrongly) to tempt but also (logically and rightly) to entitle us to say "God does not love us" or even "God does not exist"? -- Antony Flew |

It is much clearer today that "fighting terrorists" has been a smokescreen for the real foreign policy in Iraq, link or no link to Osama Bin Ladin -- which was mapped out months before September 11. Ask ex-Bush administration officials who are willing to talk and have the minutes of government meetings to prove it. We may have bagged a ruthless dictator, but please don't characterize this as a great victory in the war on terrorism. Bagging Osama Bin Laden --now that would have been a real victory in the war on terrorism, assuming he has not already been caught before the Iraq war started. But we must be patient; it will take many more months to "catch" him--I would expect to see his capture announced on our TV screens, depending on how the election campaign is going --oh, perhaps--about a week before the presidential elections. |
