I omitted #8, did not write in, and got the extra point on the regrade.

so why was #8 left alone when the revised answer key came out ?
were they trying to avoid the hassle of 2 invalid questions,
so gave the benefit of the doubt by accepting D,E, omitted and that was too awkward to put in the answer key ?

I looked at 8 again - originally I thought the notation was changed a little bit from lee/skurnick but that A-D were still true based on the wording.

but now I see that the D and E are false because the term E(L) is
defined in a circular manner. strictly speaking, D and E are false because the term E(L) is not "well-defined".

A-C are true from the picture and there shouldn't be any issue.

and if the notation were taken CORRECTLY from Lee

D would be true
E would be false in general but would be true if E(A) =1.

what a horror show. This should have been as straightforward as can be if someone took the time to check that the notation was carried over
correctly from Lee's paper.

I think the re-grading process was not consistent here, as I omitted the question and did not receive credit after re-grading.

It could be that they still failed all the people they intended to fail, so the regrading was a mere formality.

I got my regrade today.

I omitted #8 and did not get credit.

I correctly interpreted #14 and just lost credit.

Net score decrease by 1 full point.

This has got to be the biggest crock of crap I have ever seen. The exam committee on this needs some serious They decrease partial credit, have the lowest passing percentage in the last 10 years, take points away for spending time giving the "best answer", and award points to some people that omitted a question but not to others? I realize that these stinkin' exams are NOT about being fair (mmmm cornydogs at the fair) but a little less blatant capriciousness would be appreciated.

I am new here and did not follow your story. So, did CAS reverse your pass with the regrade? If they did, it is really bad......

So far, no one has posted who either moved from fail to pass or from pass to fail as a result of the re-grade. It seems to have had no effect on ultimate grade.

The inconsistency on the #8 omit is really strange, though.

Make it +2 from the passing candidate number list to the passing candidate name list.

Congrats to all 125+2!
